This qualification is designed to enable junior personnel to progress towards farm labour positions in mixed farming systems. The qualification provides learners with the opportunity to participate in agricultural processes for both plant and animal production while performing directed activities and guiding others in a mixed farming context.

• Participating in agricultural processes combining plant and animal production under supervision
• Performing directed activities and providing guidance to other team members
• Gaining competency in multiple agricultural sub-fields including small stock, large stock, dairy, vegetable production, and hydroponic systems
• Making responsible decisions within familiar contexts based on agri-business principles
• Understanding and implementing agricultural practices and technical skills in mixed farming environments
• Developing fundamental competencies in communication, mathematics, and data management
• Learning agri-business principles including enterprise selection, production management, and marketing
• Implementing good agricultural practices including food safety, quality management, and environmental conservation
