Course Content

  • The importance of assisting new staff members to familiarise themselves with the workplace is explained
  • The importance of ensuring that new staff members understand their respective roles and responsibilities is explained
  • The differences between introducing a new staff member and inducting a new staff member are explained
  • New staff members are welcomed to the organisation, introduced to fellow workers, and assisted in familiarising themselves with the relevant site facilities
  • The basic work routines and organisational procedures of work are explained in sufficient detail to enable understanding of what is required
  • New staff members are encouraged to ask questions and seek clarification, wherever and whenever necessary
  • New staff members are assisted in the initial performance of allocated work activities
  • Any perceived gap in the standard operating procedures regarding the induction of new staff members is discussed with own line manager for referral to the Human Resources division
  • Own problem experiences as a new employee or those mentioned by colleagues are assimilated, and possible solutions are suggested
