Learnership Overview

The New Venture Creation Learnership is designed to develop appropriate skills and knowledge for the
establishment and development of entrepreneurial enterprises, addressing the economic and behavioral
barriers, and creating long-term solutions for job creation and SMME development.
This Qualification is intended to enhance the ability of potential and existing entrepreneurs to successfully
start and maintain SMME ventures that form part of the mainstream economy, serving both the public and
private sectors.

On achieving this qualification, the learner will have competencies in:

  • Using basic mathematics in order to fulfill new venture functions effectively;
  • Applying basic communication skills in new venture creation context;
  • requirements and manage the relevant marketing and selling processes;
  •  Demonstrating an understanding of the sector / industry in which the business operates;
  • Determining financial requirements and managing financial
  • Managing business operations;

Pre-requisites / Assumed Learning

Learners accessing this Learnership should be competent in:

• Communication at NQF level 1 (Grade 10)
• Mathematical Literacy at NQF level 1 (Grade 10)
