Learnership Overview

The Automotive Sales and Support Service Learnership is intended to provide learners with the knowledge and skills to work effectively in various sub-sectors of the industry as automotive sales persons. The primary skill is the ability to apply the fundamental competencies of automotive sales with reference to recognising and responding to prospective clients. It substantiates the natural progression of a journeyman into the sales industry. Functional areas covered include, vehicle sales, parts sales, servicing sales, tyre sales, motor cycle sales, commercial vehicle sales, and off the road vehicle sales.

On achieving this qualification, the learner will have competencies in:

  • Planning quarterly sales;
  • Performing vehicle sales;
  • Applying client service standards for client satisfaction;
  • Identifying and solving problems in which response displays responsible decisions having been made;
  • Working effectively with others as a member of a team;
  • Organising and managing oneself and one’s activities responsibly and effectively;
  • Collecting, analysing, organising and evaluating information;
  • Communicating effectively using mathematical and/or language skills
  • Using science and technology effectively, showing responsibility towards the environment

Pre-requisites / Assumed Learning

Learners accessing this Learnership should be competent in:

  • Communication at NQF level 3 (Grade 10)
  • Mathematical Literacy at NQF level 3 (Grade 10)
