QCTO
The Quality Council for Trades and Occupations (QCTO) is a Quality Council established in 2010 in terms of the Skills Development Act (Act 97 of 1998) as amended in 2008. The QCTO also offers guidance to skills development providers (both private and public) and assessment centers who must be accredited by the QCTO in order to implement occupational qualifications.
SpecCon and Andebe have been awarded a number of QCTO Accreditations. We endeavor to grow our QCTO accreditations list over the course of the next few years, ensuring that we are aligned with the new QCTO landscape.
SAQA
The South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) is the oversight body of the NQF and the custodian of its values and quality character. Section 13 of the NQF Act sets out the functions of SAQA, specifically in relation to oversight of the councils, development of the NQF policies, registration of qualifications, recognition of professional bodies, maintenance of learner records and more.
SpecCon, Andebe & Megro products and services are aligned with the SAQA standards, upholding the SAQA vision, mission and values throughout the implementation of courses, learnerships and qualifications.
SETA
SETAs are statutory bodies established by Acts of Parliament and they are given clear responsibilities to be discharged in the public interest as custodians of public funds (levies). SETAs report to the Director-General of the Department of Higher Education and Training, on the efficient and effective use of funds. SETAs are also governed by the Public Finance Management Act, the provisions of which are designed to ensure that public bodies operate in a manner that is not wasteful or irresponsible.
SpecCon is accredited with multiple SETA’s to upskill individuals as well as enable companies to benefit from related tax benefits.
SAIOSH
SAIOSH is recognised by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) as a professional body to register Occupational Health and Safety Professionals in South Africa in terms of the NQF Act, Act 67 of 2008. Saiosh is the largest Occupational Health and Safety professional body in Africa and the leading source of information and networking opportunities within the Occupational Health and Safety profession in South Africa.
SpecCon’s compliance courses are Saiosh compliant and can therefore form part of CPD reward systems.
